The Latest Round Of Musical Chairs

Weve never claimed to offer an in-depth, exhaustive, water tight journalistic approach to, well, anything really. Just a bit of a catch up and hopefully a smile or two. Two and half tops. And todays musical chairs update on whos where is likely to have more holes in it than Stevie Wonders blow up doll. That said, well have a crack at updating you on just some of the moves we know about.

First of all, a little birdy (you know, that same little talking birdy everyone seems to blame for blabbing secrets) tells us Sophie Cooke has left Einstein da Vinci and Co, to work as production manager over at Shannons Way. Who the hell are they we hear you ask? Well, theyre the interstate agency weve been trying to confirm are opening up over here. Theyre yet to return our calls, so we cant officially say if or when theyre opening, but were tired of sitting on that particular piece of info so there ya go, thats where we think shell be popping up if she hasnt already. No doubt shell certainly be hoping theyre actually opening up here if she plans on working there.

Not to be outdone, Einstein have picked up Ross Calabria from KWP! to fill her shoes (which should be quite a sight to see him teetering around in heels) and gone a step further and nicked former LA media director Katrina Nitschke for the role of Account Director. Although senior designer Simone Rister did cross over to (or is that from?) the dark side from Einstein to WOW! OK, dizzy yet? Then theres Julie Martin, who did a stint at Black Sheep a while back wholl be resurfacing as an art director at Baker Advertising starting next week. Another ex-Black Sheeper Josh Welbourne has also been spotted over at JamShop working as a freelance art director alongside fellow new recruits Senior Writer Johnny Velis whos defongerated from Clemenger and Art Director Marque Kabbaz who came over from Martins.

Although its kind of ancient history now, a few weeks back Imagination had a bit of a restructure and some of the people who found themselves footloose and fancy free as a result of that little exercise are now starting to bob up around town which is nice too. Ben Spry has landed in production at Showpony, and Paul Sobolewski is now helping out in IT at Oasis. Hes not the only new face around there though with what Head of Post Production Dale Roberts describes as a host of new creative talent now on board including new flame artist Tony Bannan and VFX artist Kevin Russell also settling in nicely.

And we simply couldnt go without mentioning Robyn Lamberts who worked on our fabulous AdTown corporate ID. She finally escaped from Out of this World to work over at CastonDesign. And last but not least, Award School grad Caitlin Milne, who had been working freelance at THEM for the past year or so, has drawn the short straw to take up a place at Out of this World and, amongst many other exciting things, help out with our very own AdTown site.

So there ya go. Consider yourself at least partially updated. And dont forget, if weve missed something by all means let us know. Or if youd like to get all Web2.0 and spread your own news or rumours, please feel free to do so in our sexy new online forum.
